Today I made Longan agar-agar. The weather nowadays is so hot, so it's nice to cool down with a cup of chilled jelly. The jelly is easy to make and it only take about 30 minutes to complete.
This is the fresh agar-agar stripes. I prefer them to the powdered ones. You can get these at sundry shops or at hypermarkets such as Tesco or Carrefour.
Wash and soak the agar-agar stripes for about 15 minutes. Then drain them.
Then boil about 1.3 litres of water. Put in the agar-agar stripes once the water starts to boil. Continue to stir. Add in about 250 ml of evaporated milk once the agar agar stripes have dissolved. Turn off the fire after the milk has come to a soft boil.
Proceed to scoop the jelly mixture into designated containers. You may use smaller cups or baking trays. Depends on the size you want.
Wait for the jelly to set and then add a few longan and about 2 spoonful of longan syrup. Chill and enjoy.
It's easy to make right?
